Sebert Street Park

Here are my feet

Here are my feet
Almost one with the earth
My toes dig deep
Searching for Water

Here are my hands
Almost touching the sky
My fingers stretch up
Searching for light

Gusts have stolen
My premature buds
My still-green leaves
I am unstoppable

Storms have scarred
My delicate skin
My scars remain
I am immovable

The shears have taken
One, two, three treasures
Six spring up in their place
I am improvable

Here are my feet
Almost one with the earth
My toes dig deep
They find their water

Here are my hands
Almost touching the sky
My fingers stretch up
They find their light
